Pixie-Bobs are domesticated cats that are bred to have the visual appearance of the North American Bobcat, yet do not
have any wild bloodlines.
They are very personable, loving cats. They are often referred to as "A Dog in a Cat's Coat."
Pixie-Bobs are big, strong cats with a short tail, come in both shorthair and longhair, have a spotted coat, and they
can be polydactyl(extra toes). The Pixie-Bob standard is the only standard that accepts the polydactyls. Males usually weigh
from fourteen to twenty two pounds, and females from ten to twelve pounds. The Pixie-Bob has lynx tipped ears and a spotted
double coat that is very thick. They can be spotted or marbled with or without rosettes. They can be silver or brown. The
dominate show colors are red and brown.
Pixie-bobs are highly intelligent (To use a dog analogy, their intelligence would be similar to a Golden Retriever's),
social, active, bold, and enjoy playing with other animals and are excellent companions for children. They are doglike in
their devotion and loyalty, and can easily be trained to walk on a leash and fetch.
They form a strong bond with their family, and are capable of understanding some human words and phrases
Pixie-Bobs are also known for their chirps, chatters, and growls; most don't meow often, and some don't meow at all.
Almost all Pixie-Bobs like to be in the same room as their owners, and will follow you around the house.
